Children's Nutrition: Eating Right for Life

Kids have specific nutritional needs that must be met in order to be able to grow, learn and function normally. But many kids do not eat a balanced diet that contains the appropriate amount of vitamins, minerals and calories for their body, resulting in poor muscle development, problems with weight management, inability to concentrate in school and low energy levels. Good nutrition starts at home, and kids learn their eating habits from their parents—so it’s important to set the right example for your child at family mealtimes.   

At the Center for Child & Family Wellness, we’re here to help. Parents and their children work with a registered dietician who assists them in developing and maintaining healthy eating habits for the whole family. By giving parents the information they need about portion sizes, meal planning, and nutritional essentials, we empower them to make the right decisions about food and propel them toward their family’s weight management goals, while setting up kids for a lifetime of healthy eating habits.
