Providing the Keys to a Balanced Diet and Healthy Lifestyle

At the Center for Child & Family Wellness, we understand that kids face plenty of challenges as they mature. Our goal is to provide the support they and their parents need to change unhealthy lifestyles and successfully overcome weight management and self-esteem issues while building lifelong healthy habits. Our board-certified bariatric pediatrician, licensed child psychologist, registered nutritionists and exercise physiologists work together to provide comprehensive, individualized attention to each child we see. Our overall program addresses the four key components of a balanced lifestyle: nutrition, exercise, psychology and health. Teaching Kids Healthy Habits For Life

Our practice is centered on teaching children, teens and families how to adopt lifelong healthy habits. The goal of our comprehensive pediatric wellness initiative is to help ensure that today’s kids can live to a long and healthy life by making good lifestyle choices with regard to their diet, physical activity, psychological wellbeing and overall health. Simply put, we help kids build a healthier lifestyle through a motivational and fun process that’s tailored to their individual needs and engages their parents every step of the way. Here’s what the program offers:

  • Individualized, comprehensive medical, health and wellness evaluations
  • Follow-up assessments every three months to track patients’ progress
  • Personal YMCA health coach to motivate kids and help them reach their goals
  • Psychological services for kids and their families to assist in weight management
  • Gym, yoga and sports activities at area YMCA facilities
  • Activity workshops and group education sessions
  • Counseling in nutrition, fitness and behavioral modification
  • Bonus family workshops after core sessions are complete
